11 Months!

I know I sound like a broken record, but I truly can't believe how fast time is flying by. I am almost in denial that my baby will be turning 1 next month. I've witnessed every first and milestone, but I still feel like I've missed out somehow because those precious tiny baby moments passed by so quickly. That being said, Hannah is delightful at 11 months!

She has two special loves in her life (aside from me and Daddy and other special people, of course) - her little bunny and her huge Winnie the Pooh- both gifts from special people. She lights up each time she sees her Pooh bear and she snuggles into him and talks to him. And she hardly goes anywhere without her bunny- she drags him along by his long ear as she crawls around home and holds him close while riding in the car. She even took him to our Fall Festival on Halloween. She was a princess and we put him in a frilly pink bag for her to carry. Someone asked what the bunny had to do with the costume. Nothing, but we don't leave the house without bunny!

Her favorite games are "peek-a-boo" and "catch me if you can" where she crawls away from us and then turns to grin at us, meaning "come chase me"! She even does this at nursery with her friend Lily. She feeds herself several foods now- avocado, cheese, crackers, carrot, banana, peaches and pasta! Meal time can take forever and is so messy, but it's fun to see how much she enjoys it! Her first Thanksgiving is coming up this week and I'm sure she will love it! We are so thankful for her and how happy and healthy she is- what a blessed life!

9 Months!

Our sweet baby girl has been in our world now for over 9 months! She continues to be the most precious gift God could've ever given us. She weighed in at 17 lbs, 2 oz at her well check appointment and is over 27 inches now! Her latest accomplishment is cruising along the couches and any other object she thinks may support her- she's pulling up on absolutely everything now. She's also getting quite a fine collection of pearly white teeth- 3 have come in this week (ouch!) for a total of 6. She is very vocal and we know quickly from the tone of her "mama's" whether she's happy or not. Thankfully, she is happy most of the time exploring her world. We took our first family trip to the Columbus Zoo recently, where she enjoyed all the sights (especially the penguins because they swam so close to her and she got to see a large map of New Zealand and see the native kiwi bird). Fall has arrived and we're counting our blessings as the season turns.

Our Little Girl is Growing Up

Hannah is becoming less like a baby and more like a little girl with a big personality! She is laughing all the time, pulling up all by herself, crawling like crazy, and incredibly curious about the world around her. She's had no shortage of entertainment this month with her Grandma and Grandpa here from New Zealand and Aunty Sarah and Uncle Dan here from Scotland! She has been adored and has been adoring her fans. We've traveled to Cincinnati and taken Hannah to the Beach Waterpark and the Creation Museum, and been out for special birthday dinners for Aunty Sarah and Daddy. Hannah thought that the surprise party for Daddy was actually for her- our social butterfly never wants to leave the excitement of being with people to go to bed, but once in her crib she quickly slips into dreamland. She's had a very exciting month!!

Busy Busy Busy!

Busy pretty much sums up this last month as well as the state of our little one these days! We got the keys to our house, quickly painted 4 rooms with the help of friends, and proceeded to "hurry up and wait" on our moving truck that finally arrived 6 days after it was scheduled. We also went to the North American Christian Convention in Indianapolis and then went to visit my Great aunt Mimi, who was thrilled to finally meet Hannah! We've been unpacking and settling in this month and Hannah has been on the move, too- she started crawling last week!! It's been a month of very fun "firsts"- her first teeth, first words ("Mama, mama, mama!") :) then figuring out how to sit up by herself and now crawling! It's all happening so fast!! She's engaging with everything around her, loves being outside on our porch and in her baby pool, and is totally fascinated by our cat, Haley. We are enjoying her sweet laugh and smile every day!

We have an exciting month ahead with the arrival of Grandma, then Sarah and Dan, and then Grandpa! And Granny and Grandpoppa are visiting too so baby girl may be a tiny bit spoiled this month or as a friend has said "rotten- er". We are so thrilled to have some nice family time soon!

Half a year has gone by!

We are having so much fun with our little Hannah! She's rolling over, sitting up, and giggling all the time! She is such a happy baby and a joy to us each day! She smiles at everyone she meets. She's enjoying her solid foods and tries to take the spoon away so she can feed herself. That will be here so soon it's scary. I honestly don't know where the last 6 months have gone and I find myself wishing time would slow down so I can savor these brief baby days longer. Hannah's 6 month check up was good- she weighs over 15 pounds and is 26 and a half inches long now!

In the last month or so we've gotten to visit with Grandpoppa and Granny twice. And we're looking forward to Grandma and Grandpa and Aunty Sarah and Uncle Dan visiting soon! We move into our new house this weekend so we're super excited about that! Hannah will have her own room in pink, lavender, and blue and we have Aunty Mel and Nana and some other friends helping to paint it- very special.

5 Months & Growing

Hannah is 5 months old today! She continues to amaze us with how quickly she's growing. She giggles and grins all the time!! Daddy said she snorted the other day while laughing, but Mommy missed it. She still loves her bath time- kicks, splashes, and smiles. She started sucking her thumb about a week ago. She likes sitting up in her bumbo chair. And she started rice cereal this week and loves it! Turning into such a big girl.

Some exciting recent events: her Baby Dedication at church was last Sunday! It was a lovely day. The service was followed by a reception and she had her special Miller, Colvin, McNeil, and Williams family members there to celebrate with us! Also on the list of amazing blessings is that our Louisville home sold last week and we're hoping to close and move into our home in Ohio by Hannah's half birthday next month! Looking forward to decorating her room!

Time is flying too fast!

Ms. Hannah Lynn has been our joy and delight for just over 4 months now! She's gained 8 pounds since she was born ( now 12 lbs. 14 oz) and she's in the 25th-50th% bracket on the growth chart- woohooo as Auntie Trisha would say! Hannah is taking in the world around her and is fascinated by everything- she stares at us, at her hands, at the walls and ceilings and everything in between. She has the sweetest disposition- happy and smiling most of the time (only exception being teething which just started and if she's overtired). She's begun laughing and it's the best sound in the world to her Daddy and me. Everyone at church loves her- she was given several Easter baskets by friends. She has the nursery ladies wrapped around her little finger. Truthfully, so are we....

Adorable 3 Month Old

This month with Hannah has been so fun! She is smiling a lot and we love trying to make her smile! She loves her bath time and exercise time, too- she kicks her little legs like she's scoring soccer goals right and left. She also broke the 10 pound barrier this month! On the 19th she weighed 10 lbs, 12 oz- very exciting!!

She has a new fan base now that we've relocated to Springfield, OH. Andrew's new role and our new church are great! It's been a little nuts with the move and Andrew took a mission trip to Africa, but we are all doing really well.

Adventures in Month 2

Hannah has been a traveling baby this month! We went with Daddy and Grandma to a conference at Savannah Christian Church in Georgia. We had a great time catching up with friends there and they enjoyed meeting Hannah. Hannah went to the beach for the first time, though she thought Tybee Island was a bit cold. We also went to Springfield, Ohio to see Daddy and hunt for a house. We got snowed in for an extra day! Hannah is now cooing and smiling more often. She sticks her tongue out and makes spit bubbles, which Auntie Sarah says are her first signs of speech development. Grandma has to leave this week, but she's had a wonderful visit with her first sweet grandbaby. Hannah and Mommy (or Mummy depending on which country you live) are moving to Ohio to join Daddy a week from tomorrow.

Growing Girl

Hannah's 1 month Dr. appointment went well. She is a whopping 6 pounds and 10 ounces now! She's almost on the growth chart! She also grew an inch in her first month. Yay, Hannah!

Joys of January

The year 2009 ended on a high note for us as we brought our newborn home 3 days before Christmas! Hannah Lynn Jit was the best Christmas present we could have received. Hannah weighed only 4 pounds, 14 ounces (exactly double her mom's birthweight) and has lived up to the same slogan "small, but mighty"! She has been a such a joyful addition to our family.
